IMP-CF Fluted

The ribbed profile of the Metl-Span CF Fluted insulated metal wall panel provides bold vertical lines complementary to almost any commercial or industrial building. The CF Fluted wall panel is the recommended profile for the exterior of cold storage buildings.

Mesa nominal 1/8″ deep; Light Mesa nominal 1/16″ deep, Light Mesa not available for 5- or 6-inch thick panels

Foamed-in-place, Non-CFC & zero ODP polyurethane, FM Class 1 approval

K-factor, Btu in/ft2 hr. °F @ 75°F (24°C) mean core temperature = 0.140.
K-factor, Btu in/ft2 hr. °F @ 40°F (4°C) mean core temperature = 0.126

Metl-Span profiled panels with a urethane foam core have a standard FM Class 1 approval and offer the best insulating values available today.

Panels are lightweight and quick to install, significantly reducing construction time.

A double tongue-and-groove offset side joint permits concealed fastening.

Consistent insulating values are achieved with built-in thermal breaks, saving energy.

The metal and foam composite construction creates a rigid panel far stronger than the individual parts. This increases the span capability of the panels and reduces the need for secondary structural steel components.

CF Fluted Material Specifications

CF-42 FLUTE WALL PANEL ALLOWABLE CONNECTION LOAD table

  • Based on CF-42 panel with 26 ga. Flute exterior & 26 ga. Mesa interior face (min Fy = 33 ksi).
  • For Pattern FP1, CF panel clips are fastened to minimum 14 gage steel with (2) 1/4″-14 SDS Tek 3 at interior supports and (1) 1/4″-14 SDS Tek 3 at end supports.  For 12 gage or thicker steel, #12-24 SDS or 1/4″-14 SDS Tek 5′s may be used.  In lieu of self-drilling screws, self-tapping screws may be used.
  • Fastening patterns FP2, FP3, FP4 and FP5, includes CF panel clip attachment plus 1, 2, 3 or 4 Fabloks, respectively, at supports per panel width.  Fab-lok spacing is 10.5″ OC from female edge of panel seam.
  • The through fasteners (FP9) are as follows:  #12-24 SDS in min 12 ga. steel; or #1/4-14 SDS in min 12 ga. steel; or #1/4-14 STS in min 14 ga. steel.  4 Fasteners with 5/8″ neoprene bonded washers per panel width @ max 8.4″ OC.
  • The through fasteners (FP10) are as follows: #12-24 SDS in min 12 ga. steel; or #1/4-14 SDS in min 12 ga. steel; or #1/4-14 STS in min 14 ga. steel.  5 Fasteners with 5/8″ neoprene bonded washers per panel width @ max 8.4″ OC.
  • Allowable suction load is the lowest value of panel bending strength, shear strength, deflection limit and connection strength for each fastening pattern.
  • Allowable loads based on panel stress and deflection design criteria are derived from ASTM E72 structural testing and calculated with factor of safety of 2.5 for bending stress, 3.0 for shear stresses and deflection limitation of L/180.
  • The panel connection strength was determined from ASTM E1592 testing and the allowable loads are calculated with factor of safety of 2.
  • The structural capacity of the girts are not considered and must be examined independently.

CF-42 FLUTE WALL PANEL ALLOWABLE POSITIVE LOAD (PSF)

  1. Based on CF-42 panel with 26 ga. Flute exterior & 26 ga. Mesa interior faces (min Fy=33 ksi).
  2. Refer to the allowable connection load chart, for suction loads, which controls support spacing requirements.
  3. Allowable positive load is the lowest value of panel bending strength, shear strength & deflection limit.
  4. Allowable loads based on panel stress and deflection design criteria are derived from ASTM E72 structural testing and calculated with factor of safety of 2.5 for bending stress, 3.0 for shear stresses and deflection limitation of L/180.
  5. The structural capacity of the girts are not considered and must be examined independently.
  6. Consult Metl-Span for recommendations on panel profile and gage suitable for thermal stresses.
